Egelston Township Clerk, Joan Raap has unfortunately announced her resignation from the Township Board effective June 25, 2026 at Noon. We appreciate her many years of service to the township and the time she dedicated to our community.
As a result, the Township Board is accepting letters of interest from individuals interested in serving as Clerk.
The only statutory requirements to hold township elective office are that a person must be a qualified elector of Egelston Township, be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, and have resided in the Township for at least 30 days (MCL 168.11 and 168.342).
Letters of interest may be submitted to the Egelston Township Supervisor via email at afaino@egelstontwp.org no later than 5:00 pm on April 30th.
In your letter, please include your reason for seeking the position, any boards or positions you have previously served on, how long you have lived in the Township, and any other information you would like the Board to consider.
Due to the timing of this vacancy, the positions will be appointed as early as May 26th, 2026, but no later than August 8, 2026 and run through the 2028 election.
